It's time for another Throwback Thursday. These are some poppies I made for my best friend at the last shop I worked at. Don loves poppies; they are his favorite flower. I wanted to do something special for him so I found this kit from Maia and knew I had to make it for him. Now I know some stitchers will never even think about using a kit but honestly this was a quality one. It did come with aida cloth but it was a really nice fabric and since I am basically
cheap thrifty, I couldn't see not using it. It also had Anchor thread which I absolutely love using. I did have it framed for Don and he loved it. It's really nice giving stitching to someone who really appreciates it.

What a lovely kit and the beads look so good in the centers! It must be nice to have a guy who knows his flowers haha. Mine can tell you if something might be a plant. ;)
I love cross stitched poppies. These are beautiful, so vivid!
